A plane was performing a routine passenger flight and beginning its descent when a passenger suddenly started to act strangely. He took some gasoline and a lighter from his belongings and tried to set a fire. He managed to start a small fire before passengers and cabin crew overpowered him and put out the fire. He was restrained until the flight landed and taken into police custody upon arrival at their destination. It’s unclear how he got the lighter and gasoline on board and police are currently investigating the incident.

A Boeing 767 with 235 people on board, was en route and cruising when the cabin crew detected a burning smell in the galley. They decided to check the galley and a flight attendant discovered that some food items had caught fire inside an oven. The fire was immediately extinguished and they informed the captain of the situation. The captain decided to continue the flight because the danger had passed.

Unexpected extinguisher

Here’s the text to the listening from yesterday.

A Boeing 737-800, was en route at FL380 when there was a problem with a fire extinguisher in the cockpit. It started to spray halon around the cockpit by itself. The pilots had to put on their oxygen masks due to the danger of inhaling the gas and began a rapid descent to FL110 and then diverted to their alternative airport. The fire extinguisher was replaced and the flight was able to take off again two hours after landing.
