Landing gear smoke

Here’s the text to the listening from yesterday.

Enjoy!!

A Boeing 777 approached its destination and landed safely on runway 21. As the plane taxied to the apron the tower advised the pilots that they could see smoke coming from the right main gear. The plane stopped on a taxiway and the fire services sprayed the right main gear with foam. After checking the plane they discovered a hydraulic leak which was dripping onto the right main gear and causing the smoke. The plane continued to taxi to the apron and the passengers disembarked without a delay.

Misunderstood

Here’s the text to the listening from yesterday.

Enjoy!!

An old 747 was taxiing for departure. The crew had clearance to line up and wait but before the crew were able to line up they had a problem. The nose gear of the plane was off the paved area of the runway and they couldn’t move the plane. The first officer contacted the tower to request a tug to help them, but the controller said, ‘roger, hold short of the runway’. The first officer repeated his problem and the second time, the controller said, ‘roger, line up and wait’. The first officer explained the problem a third time and finally the controller understood the problem and he diverted another plane on final approach. Within two hours the plane was removed from its position and could take off, but many flights were diverted before the runway was cleared.
