Audio answer: ‘Turbulence on takeoff’

Here’s the text to the listening from yesterday.

Enjoy!!

A 747 taxied onto the runway and lined up. A 777 had just departed moments before. Shortly after, the controller gave the 747 clearance to takeoff and the plane started its takeoff roll. With the plane close to V1 it veered sharply left, then right. The pilots immediately applied the brakes and brought the plane to a stop. The plane taxied off the runway and stopped completely. It had 12 flat tyres. Investigators determined that turbulence from the 777 had caused the plane to move dangerously left and right on the runway.
